Additional Info

Based on her family's farm in the Macedon Ranges of Central Victoria, Emma Jimson creates elegantly refined forms which delicately dance the seductive line between form and function. Jimson's works firmly echo the power and beauty of the surrounding granite hills of the Taungurung peoples as she leans on the strength of porcelain and precision of her master mould-making. The chemistry, alchemy and process of her ceramic practice are an endless source of curiosity and wonder that drives experimentation, challenges comfort and informs direction.

Jimson regularly holds workshops to share her skill and knowledge in the design, construction and utilisation of pottery, plaster moulds and casting with porcelain slip bodies. Jimson runs "Pom-me-granite Studios" with her partner Jim, a bespoke carpenter.
